Online notary services in Ohio

Schedule an online notarization appointment for eligible documents. After booking, we review your document details if needed, then we send your secure BlueNotary remote session link — this is not instant automated notarization.

What is remote online notarization in Ohio?

Remote online notarization (RON) allows an Ohio notary public to notarize your document during a live audio-visual session. You and the notary are not in the same physical location.

Ohio law permits RON when requirements are met, including identity verification and a secure technology platform. Noted Notaries uses BlueNotary for remote sessions after your appointment is scheduled and any needed document review is complete.

Commonly requested documents for online notarization

Document eligibility depends on document type and the requirements of the receiving agency (school district, BMV, court, lender, etc.). The list below is illustrative — not a guarantee that your document qualifies.

  • Affidavits, including homeschool driving eligibility (50-hour affidavit)
  • School residency affidavits (when the receiving agency accepts RON)
  • Powers of attorney (when eligible under Ohio rules and agency requirements)
  • Other documents We confirm during review

Some receiving agencies may have additional requirements beyond notarization — such as specific witnesses, forms, or in-person filing. We can help you understand the notary's role but cannot provide legal advice about your situation.

What you need before your appointment

  • A completed document ready for notarization (unsigned in the notary presence, unless your document type requires otherwise — We will confirm)
  • Valid government-issued photo ID
  • Reliable internet, camera, and microphone for your remote session
  • A private location where you can complete the session without interruption
  • Witnesses, if your document or receiving agency requires them (confirm before booking)

How We send your BlueNotary session link

After you schedule an online notarization appointment and share your document details, we review whether the document appears ready for remote online notarization under Ohio rules.

If review is needed, we may contact you with questions before sending your session link. When ready, We email your secure BlueNotary link for your scheduled remote online notarization session.

You complete identity verification during the session, then finish notarization according to your document requirements. Session timing depends on your appointment — not an instant on-demand process.
